StoryBreak’s philosophy was founded out of a shared experience of a handful of writers at the beginning of our careers: sitting alone with our writing could either be the greatest high or the most torturous challenge. When we were in the “challenge” phase, we could circle the drain for days, even weeks.

But then we realized, what if we could have the equivalent of a writers’ room or a development executive at our finger-tips? Someone who knows our project inside out to stave off writer’s block before it even happens. A writers’ Bat Phone. We created this for ourselves, and once we were working writers, but didn’t want to admit to our bosses or studio executives that writing was anything but a breeze, we kept it going. When other Hollywood writers heard about it, they wanted in. Thus StoryBreak was born.

StoryBreak helps writers who are prolific, but struggle cutting material, the perfectionistic writers who delete everything, and the procrastinators who can’t possibly start their project until they’ve perfectly curated an Instagram account for their dog. Whether it’s motivation, accountability, brainstorming or notes needed, StoryBreak thrives on collaboration, finding joy in helping bring a writer's vision to life.

Recently, a team member came upon a quote, “Collaboration is contagious, pass it on.” In that spirit, we decided it was time to bring StoryBreak’s services to new voices. Whether just starting your career or recently retired, everyone has a story to tell. By offering not only our private coaching, but also ongoing, more affordable small workshops, StoryBreak’s Bat Phone is now accessible to all.
